Mold Damage – Columbus Laundry Room

Mold damage befell this Columbus laundry room when the PVC drain line for the washing machine sprung a slow leak. The water was wicked up by the drywall and eventually the flooring. SERVPRO of South Columbus was called in to clean up the mold. The first task our trained technicians perform is an overall assessment of the mold damage. In cases like this, it would be determined that the drywall and baseboard needed to be torn out and replaced. The leaky PVC pipe would also require replacement. New water hoses would also be suggested. Once the drywall has been removed, the mold cleanup and disinfecting could take place. The entire area would be treated with an antimicrobial agent to inhibit any future mold growth.
